Abstract

The study of fluid structure interactions in human vocal folds was discussed. A model was designed to mimic the vocal folds and study the interactions. The model was based on three parameters: onset pressure, oscillating frequency, and geometry. The shape of the model was most important because the dynamic response of a structure depends on the fluid forces exerted on the structure.
